Introduction for The World Stage Blog

The World Stage is a weekly blog post on Sundays that will deal with current world events and how they relate to Bible prophecy.

Many things are unfolding that are precursors to prophesy fulfillment. There are events happening on the "world stage" that are dress rehearsals for the manifestation. Certain things have to happen to pave the way for end time events to occur.

The goal of this weekly blog post is not to instill fear but to impart understanding and knowledge to the Body of Christ. God wants us to know!!

The Russian Connection

According to Ezekiel 38:1-18 Russia (Gog) in alliance with other countries in the Middle East and Asia will band together to war against Isreal while she is at peace.
There are 3 precursors that will prepare the way to its fruition:
1. Russia to align itself with a prominent country(s) in Asia (China).
2. Russia to align itself with a prominent country(s) in the Middle East (could this be Iran?).
3. For Isreal to be at peace (currently Isreali troops have invaded Gaza so there is no peace at this time).

A new state in the Middle East

Let's start off by defining the borders of the Middle East. The Middle East is the territory from Libya in Africa to Afghanistan.

Currently Syrian militants are helping Iraqi insurgents to take over Iraq. Syria and Iraq are neighboring countries. Let me provide you with a timeline of events that have occurred in Syria & Iraq from June 10, 2014 - June 30, 2014

Timeline

June 10th
Syrian civil war spilling over into Iraq and they are sending fighters to help Iraqi insurgents. Iraqi insurgents have captured Mosul and going for Baghdad. The Iraqi army fled due to being outgunned.

June 12th
Civill war in Iraq. Insurgents have been named as ISIL (later to be known as ISIS) has taken Tikrit and still marching towards Baghdad. Iraqi President asking USA to use drone strikes against ISIL.

June 13th
USA moves carrier to Persian Gulf for possible air strikes in Iraq. President Obama states no troops will enter Iraq.

June 25th
Contrary to what President Obama said earlier it was reported today that USA troops are on the ground in Iraq. ISIS has taken over oil refinery in Iraq.

June 29th
ISIS declares that it is a "caliphate" (an Islamic state) due to taking 1/3 of Iraq and the Northeastern region of Syria. They are demanding Muslim nations to recognize them as a state.

June 30th
Due to USA's delay to provide war planes at the request of Iraqi President, Russia has sent war planes to Iraq.

So in a short period of time a major crisis has developed in Iraq that may tear apart the prior stabilization efforts provided by USA for many years.

Russia and the USA are jockeying for the upper hand in wooing Iraq. Will Russia be able to supercede the USA in Iraq? It is apparent that Russia is trying to establish a strategic alliance with Iraq. Iraq's oil makes them a strategic economic partner for Russia and if successful would pave the way for an oil monopoly due to Russia's massive oil and gas resources.

Asian Security Council
On May 22nd it was reported that China's president called for an Asian security arrangement that would include Russia & Iran and exclude the USA. This deal gives Russia an economic boost as the USA and the European Union have imposed sanctions on Russia because of the crisis in Ukraine.
